2 Weeks Notice Email
Review Rating Score
There are many reasons why we may feel the need to resign from a position we're currently filling. It may be because we've received a better offer or that we're not happy with the atmosphere at work. Whatever the reason may be, it's always a good idea to pen down a letter or write an email in order to let your employers know that you want to resign. The best thing to do is to give them enough notice. 2 weeks' notice is usually the norm.
How do you write a 2 weeks notice email?
A two weeks’ notice letter is a document that an employee hands to their employer to inform them of their resignation. It’s traditionally handed in two weeks (14 days, 10 business days) before your final working date, as stated in the letter itself. Note that there are no federal laws concerning giving any kind of warning before you quit your job. It’s simply a cultural practice to allow your employer enough time to plan for your departure (finding a replacement, reassigning your tasks, etc.)
You should give at least two weeks’ notice in most circumstances, but if you’re trying to be extra considerate, you can give three or even four weeks’ notice. Whether the separation is for good or bad reasons, it’s best to always remain cordial and polite when resigning from a position. When quitting, the employer may not act in a positive manner. The quitting individual should remain poised and try to offer their services to train any replacement during the notice period.
