The definition of metaphor is a figure of speech in which a work literally designate one kind of object or idea is used in place of another to suggest a likeness or analogy between them.

Where to find smart metaphors and similes?

The metaphors suggest what something is like by differentiating it from something else with has alike characteristics, here is one example: "My sister is a lion" it is a metaphor which this statement isn't literally true - a child cannot be a lion but the sister can share the lion's characteristics like shouting out loud or being bossy all around.
