A period of paid time off (PTO) awarded by an employer to employees is known as annual leave. Holidays or even relaxing at home are all acceptable uses of annual leave for employees. An employment contract usually specifies what kind of leave is allowed.

How do you record annual leave?

The following methods apply to employees who are entitled to annual leave:
  1. Leave days set for the year.
  2. Worked days accrued.
  3. Amounts accrued based on work hours (settle hours per day, excluding overtime)
  4. The average number of hours worked per day (including overtime) accrues overtime pay.

In what way are leave days calculated?

A total of 15 days of full pay are permitted per year on full pay in each annual leave cycle or in each period of 12 months calculated from the date of employment. Leave accrues at the rate of one hour per 17 hours worked, or a day for every 17 days worked, or 1,25 days per month.
